Whoopsie - I forgot to mention that I was interviewed in the latest edition of Way Of The Rodent! I’m not entirely sure if this is a blessing or a curse, however
Thanks to Bob’s alarmingly leading questions, I do all sorts of things to embarrass myself in front of WOTR’s massive readership. Oh yes.

Well, it’s been a rough couple of months. Loads of separate projects on, and Veck2’s been suffering because of it. The pressures of ‘drawing’ a daily webcomic, work commitments, fixing broken PCs owned by silly friends and relatives, therapy and medication issues… Ah, who am I kidding? I’ve been slacking around and partying my arse off with my better half
Veck2 will be released at the end of June, and the new music is completely brilliant. Oh yes!

Thanks to the invaluable help of OogyBoogy, I’ve narrowed down the silly crash problems with Veck SE. Cheers mate! I’ve also added XInput support.
The problems, which don’t affect Veck 2 as I completely re-wrote the control system for that, are basically shitty coding - not checking ranges and the like. When I put the control system together I was under pressure to get it finished for the vector compo, and, well, good coding practice sorta went out the window
Re-grab it here.
And thanks to this brilliant chappie right here, the brand-new XInput-related problems have been sorted too. Thanks for your usual complete and correct documentation, Microsoft!
Okay, so it was my fault, but it sure is fun to blame The Man

Just when you thought I was working on Veck 2, I hit you with another surprise - The Special Edition of the original Veck has been released! With girlfriend-amusing rumble effects and a starfield that makes you fall off your chair when you’re drunk and playing with the lights off, it’s as much fun as the original, but more Special.
This ought to hold you lot over while I put the finishing touches on V2
Grab it here.

It’s official! Veck 2 will be made available for exciting download later today from thesharewareportal.com, and will retail for the excitingly low price of $19.95! Beta testers, I’ve excitingly emailed you with details on how you can send me the discounted $15 for the beta - though you’ll also have to pay the full retail price if you want to upload your exciting scores. I think that $34.95 is a fairly good price for people to pay for the privilege of doing all my bughunting for me!
Download link as soon as the details have been finalized.

Bizarre Creations thinks that Veck 2’s just fine by them. My thoughts on the article that made my entire year, and as I’ve been officially dragged into the clone debate, my opinion on Mark Incitti’s rather excellent Grid Wars, and why it was pulled from the net. Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve got the Games page going at last. Go and take a look at my wares!
Still got a few games to upload, sort out screenshots for, and the like, but the best ones are up at least. If you’ve got feedback on any of the games, just post a comment, or send me an email.

Veck 2 is coming along really well. Click that picture over there to the left to grab a gameplay video from about a week back, or click here to see a bunch of pictures.
It’s taken me much longer than I expected, but every morning I sit and stare at what I’ve done and realise that it’s the coolest-looking game I’ve ever made, by far.
All I have to add now is the final enemy, make the title screen work properly, and add online scores. Oh, and add an easy mode. Some of the new enemies are mental, and I’ve decided not to mellow them out
If anything, it’ll make me a fair few new real-life enemies. This game is hard.

Welcome one, welcome all to my warm and toasty home on the Internet. Here you’ll find all the video games I’ve written over the years, along with news on upcoming projects. I’m using the rather marvellous WordPress for ease of blogginess, and I must say that it’s absolutely peachy so far. Incredibly simple to customize and work with for editing and whatnot. I really should have started using it years ago… Obviously there’s a bit of work to do to change the default theme enough so it no longer looks like a default theme and starts to look like my website. I’ll sort that out later, I think…
All the games here are free, and that’s the way they’ll stay. Not that there’s anything wrong with charging for software at all - hell, some of the best games in the world are shareware. Just not mine.
